Research

The Environmental Science Institute fosters, supports, and promotes research at The University of Texas at Austin within the community of faculty who are engaged in advancing the field of environmental science.

This is accomplished by:

• Facilitating collaboration among university faculty in support of interdisciplinary research to understand the environment and how humans interact with it.
• Initiating, facilitating, and coordinating multidisciplinary research related to climate change and its impacts, water resources, Latin American and borderland issues, ecosystems, and urbanization.
• Partnering with students, stakeholders, and researchers within and outside of the university to provide solutions for the environmental problems of today and tomorrow.
