ESI Research fosters, supports, and promotes research at The University of Texas at Austin within the community of faculty who are engaged in advancing the field of environmental science.
This is accomplished by:
- creating meaningful interaction and collaboration among university faculty with diverse backgrounds in support of cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research to understand the environment and how we interact with it.
- initiating, facilitating, and coordinating diverse, multidisciplinary research related to climate change and its impacts, water resources, Latin American and borderland issues, ecosystems, urbanization and its impacts, environmental policy and education, and more.
- partnering with undergraduates, graduate students, city, state, and federal officials, stakeholders, private industry, foundations, and researchers at other universities and organizations to provide solutions for the environmental problems of today and tomorrow.
