Two ESI-affiliated faculty elected to National Academy of Engineering

“The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) announced today that David R. Maidment, professor in the Cockrell School of Engineering, and Bridget R. Scanlon, senior research scientist in the Jackson School of Geosciences, have been elected to the prestigious academy. Election to the academy is among the highest professional distinctions bestowed upon an engineer. NAE membership honors those who have made outstanding contributions to engineering research and practice, including pioneering new and developing fields of technology and making major advancements in the engineering field and profession.”

Maidment was recognized “For the development of geographic information systems applied to hydrologic processes.” ┬áScanlon was recognized “For contributions to the evaluation of groundwater recharge and aquifer depletion.”
