The goal of the Texas-Mexico Borderlands and Latin America Working Group is to initiate and assist in multidisciplinary environmental research in Latin America and the Texas-Mexico border region. Our members represent several universities, a wide range of departments, and governmental and non-governmental organizations. We seek to bridge international, disciplinary, academic, and agency boundaries in our research. We strive to bring our combined expertise to bear on scientific problems of regional importance and to assure that scientific findings are properly interpreted and applied by policy makers. The Working Group also seeks to inform local K-12 educators and students about environmental science near the Texas-Mexico border and throughout Latin America.
