ESI Program Coordinator Position

The Environmental Science Institute (ESI) at The University of Texas Austin seeks an energetic individual to help advance understanding of the environment and sustainability through development and promotion of ESI’s research, education, and outreach activities (http://www.esi.utexas.edu). The person in this position will help develop interdisciplinary research and education efforts in areas related to the study of the environment, and will have opportunity to work with leading researchers and students in this field. Candidates should have a Masters or Doctoral degree in science, engineering, or policy/planning with a wide understanding and appreciation of the sciences. She or he must be able to communicate effectively with university researchers, faculty and students in the sciences, engineering, law, policy, geography and planning. Written communication is an important part of this position.  This position includes helping to bring together interdisciplinary teams of researchers to develop projects targeted at government and foundation grant opportunities, assisting in the writing and budgeting of grants, and researching and seeking funding opportunities for the institute. The position involves presentation development, editing, and administration of a variety of projects.  The position will be filled at 50 to 100%-time based on experience and interest.
