Professional Workshops

teacher-workshopPrior to select Hot Science – Cool Talks lecture and during the pre-lecture activities, ESI hosts a professional development workshop for area K-12 teachers.  These lectures are:

  • Led by a UT resident expert or master teacher versed in the subject matter of the evening's lecture;
  • Packed with creative ideas and interactive lessons for teachers to use to connect the science behind that evening’s event to their classroom and students;
  • A great chance to question a content expert in a small setting to get additional insight into the evening's topic; and
  • Worth professional development credit towards continuing education requirements.

Workshop attendees can also receive a free CD-ROM containing a video of a previous lecture along with STEM lesson plans and modules aligned to applicable state standards.
