Psiguria by boat   ( Jan. 21, 2008 )
On Monday, we hired a private boat to take us around several rivers slowly so that we could search for Psiguria on the river banks. Of course there was some Gurania and lots of another cucumber plant that was maybe Cayaponia.

We stopped at a little riverside community and got out to hike. We hiked for a couple of hours and found one Psiguria plant. Woo-hoo!! It didn?t have any flowers, but it had an old main stem that was 3 or 4 centimeters in diameter. It was really cool.

Again, I didn?t see any animals except for birds. I was rather disappointed. I guess you have to take tourist trips into nature preserves to see any animals. I really thought there would be something! But, Karla says it is because of the little communities of people around (though there aren?t many); the animals stay away. Bummer!
