Bill Bergner, a kindergarten teacher at Andrews Elementary and an active participant in ESI’s teacher activities, convinced ESI of the need for training in geology at his school.

On 5 January 2004, GK-12 Program Coordinator Dennis Ruez and Bryan Wilbur led a day-long session on rock and mineral properties and how to include these common items in the curriculum.
