Teachers and fellows participating in the NSG GK-12 program are expected to attend a training workshop in June that precedes the start of the school year. The workshop will be held on both the U.T. Austin Campus from June 6-8, 2008 , and the U.T.M.S.I. Campus from June 10-12, 2008 . Teachers and graduate fellows from Austin-area and Port Aransas-area ISD’s will participate in this program.

Instruction will include the 5-E lesson plan template, TEKS concepts, effective instruction, Texas water science, and coastal and riparian ecosystems. Participants will also engage in breakout sessions led by previous fellow and teacher participants.
