Lesson plan based on the TIME magazine article, The Threatening Storm, (13 August 2007) about Hurricane Katrina and its effects on the city of New Orleans and Southern Louisiana. Past hurricanes, the role of the Corps of Engineers, and the effect wetlands play in protecting the Mississippi Delta area are also covered.

To understand the basic policy choices faced by Texans, including: regulating pumping, rule of capture, and groundwater districts

WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE
The students are going to examine water conservation techniques by seeing how much water they use and if they can improve this amount over twenty days.
