GK-12 Program
An Integrated Environmental Approach to K-12 Education

2007 Port Aransas Summer Institute
The National Science Foundation sponsors this UT Austin Environmental Science Institute program that partners graduate students in the sciences with K-12 teachers in Texas to enhance science education through new classroom activities, workshops and field projects.

The three-year project provides support for eight graduate fellows each year to serve as resources for K-12 science students and teachers. The program emphasizes collaboration in K-12 classrooms and in field projects on Texas watersheds, estuaries and ocean-going vessels.
