What is ESI?

The Environmental Science Institute at UT Austin is an interdisciplinary institute for scientific research on environmental topics. Part of our core mission is to enable interdisciplinary work by providing a space for collaboration and programmatic support.

Who is ESI?

Our staff is made up of a director (Dr. Jay Banner), two program coordinators (Dr. Eric James and Thais Perkins, M.S.), a media coordinator (Mr. Robert Moorhead), administrative staff (Ms. Kathleen Sebenoler), student fellows, and interns. Collectively, we have not only scientific expertise but are also skilled in editing, web support, graphic design, and administration.
